Out of 87 species of Kingfisher in the world, in India we find 12 different species. These all species are categorized into three different groups including tree, river & water. To capture the pictures of all the 12 kingfishers, Anupam, Ayush & Abira travelled 10 different states, including Kashmir to Karnataka, & Rajasthan to Arunachal Pradesh. There are few places like Sundarban, Bhitarkanika, 6 to 7 types of the kingfishers are found. Western Ghat is famous for some unique species including Odk, Blue eared. And north east states you may find similar species, in addition to Ruddy, Blyth kingfishers. The photographs in the calendar covers all the 12 species of Kingfisher in each of the months, captured by Ayush & Anupam. The calendar took 3 years to complete, as the last species Blyth Kingfisher, which got captured in Namdapha, Arunachal in September, 2023.
